Sustainable Development & Environmental Conservation

As big as France, The Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg put together, the island of Madagascar remains one of the twelve poorest countries on our planet. Its unique Flora and Fauna is under constant threat due to deforestation and over fishing. On the education front, the rate of schooling is one of the 15 worst in the world.

Faced with this situation, Oceane Aventures is helping with sustainable development and Environmental conservation of the country. Our projects, sometimes in partnership with other groups are diverse and reach all corners of Madagascar. We have:

Created an ethical charter for our guides, with the aim of minimising the impact of tourism on the environment via a few simple steps.

In partnership with NGO "Bel Avenir", specialising in education and hygiene, Oceane Aventures gives, to all customers, guidelines on the goo distribution of gifts.

We are also working with several groups against sexual tourism. There is a publicity campaign under way aimed to increase awareness amongst travellers on this issue. Our guides also undergo training on this matter.

We have signed an agreement with NGO "Fanamby" regarding rural development. Through this agreement a certain part of our profits are put aside for the funding of micro projects.

In order to help achieve sustainable development and conservation of the environment, Oceane Aventures wishes to be more than just a tour operator but one that follows ethical business practices.
